Georgie Parker's $99 Logies frock!
She’s broken records for Logie wins, but Georgie Parker tells Wendy Squires she won’t break the bank buying a dress to wear on the night.

When Georgie Parker attended her first Logies back in 1990, winning Most Popular New Talent for her role in A Country Practice, she not only shopped for and bought her own frock, she also did her own make-up.

Fast forward 20 years – two Gold Logies, five Silver and 11 nominations later – and little has changed for down-to-earth Georgie in terms of her low-fuss approach to TV’s night of nights.

“It doesn’t have to be an enormously strenuous and stressful process to get a great dress,” the 45-year-old Play School host explains as she previews the gown she’ll wear to this year’s ceremony on Sunday night – a stunning off-the-rack purple chiffon Katies dress that costs just $99.95.

“I’m a real advocate of not spending lots of money on dresses,” adds Georgie, a Katies ambassador.

“There’s a great misconception that women have to spend a fortune to feel good. Exclusivity limits choice for a lot of women - how they want to look, what they want to wear and who they can wear. So, I love the inclusive quality of affordable fashion.”

The other thing Georgie loves is comfort, always choosing a dress she “can move in”.

the dress doesnt even fit her properly at the top , it should pull in under the bust to show it off, rather that just hang down with no shape, making her look atleast 1-2 sizes bigger than she is! im not saying that a cheap dress cant look good- it definatly can, but only if it fits you correctly!
am i the only one who thought this dress looked cheap and didnt suit her? she looked pregnant in it. im all for bargain dresses, but ive bought better dresses than that brand new with tags still attached off ebay for less including postage from the uk. and she really shouldnt be flaunting it, if the public cant buy it til september

Isn't it Katies that Georgie is the spokesperson for?
Im getting married in September and this dress is everything I've been looking for for my bridesmaid.So, Magazine in hand I went straigh to Katies on Monday morning to find out that they wont be coming out until September. If the dress can be made 5 months in advance for the logies, why cant the public get the dress now. It shows that maybe she didnt go shopping for it. So now its just a waiting game for me and hopefully they come in before my wedding
As a new comer in 1990, like all of them, she has had to pay her way, she wasn't well known enough. Now, of course, Katies giving her the dress, didn't even had to pay a misery $99, otherwise why would the brand be mentioned? Actually, did we really need to know, where her dress came from, or how much it cost? Why are the included photos showing makeup artist, come styler, putting makeup on Georgie, checking out her dress? Perhaps, she does need some help, like others.
I totally agree with Georgie, you do not need to break the bank to look good. I won best dressed at local Melbourne Cup event - 3 years in a row, once in a $40 Katies dress. It is more about your accessories and self belief. If you know you look good, you will radiate that confidence and look great. I raised 3 teenage girls and they are all firm believers in it is not about wearing the dearest outfit or maxxing our your credit card to look great, it is about knowing what looks good and you and being happy and healthy and confident and you will shine no matter if you are wearing designer or budget.
