Is Schapelle Corby the greatest actress of all time?
“Loyalty to family ran thick through Schapelle’s veins. They had always been her lifeline, and dobbing in dad just wasn’t an option. She wasn’t going to ‘sing’ for anyone – there was way too much at stake.”
Phillip Koch

Schapelle Corby’s apparent crocodile tears and outrageous web of lies are exposed in an explosive new book, which claims her late father Mick Corby packed her boogie board bag full of marijuana and sent her to Bali as a willing drug mule.

Schapelle Corby might just be the greatest actress of all time. Since her arrest seven years ago at Bali airport with a boogie board bag full marijuana, ustralians have watched as Schapelle shed rivers of tears and appeared on the brink of insanity as she declared she had absolutely no involvement in the case. The desperation etched on her face has drawn sympathy from most of her countrymen and sparked high-profile campaigns demanding she be freed from her 20-year prison term.

The beauty school dropout was seen as the ultimate innocent abroad, caught up in a corrupt system. Now it seems Schapelle was putting on the performance of a lifetime, conning the world about her innocence while all the while knowing it was her father Mick, a long-time drug smuggler, who put her behind bars. Or at least this is what highly respected investigative reporter Eamonn Duff alleges in Sins Of The Father: The Untold Story Behind Schapelle Corby’s Ill-Fated Drug Run – an explosive new tell-all book alleging Schapelle is as guilty as sin.

“Schapelle took the rap for her father and his mates,” Eamonn says. “Loyalty to family ran thick through Schapelle’s veins. They had always been her lifeline, and dobbing in dad just wasn’t an option. She wasn’t going to ‘sing’ for anyone – there was way too much at stake.” Eamonn has spent the past three years interviewing relatives, friends and drug syndicate members, who all help to paint a picture of Mick Corby as an experienced smuggler who turned his daughter into a drug mule. “It was her father who packed these drugs into her bag,” he says. A family spokesperson told Woman’s Day Schapelle’s family would be making no comment on Sins Of The Father at this stage, while publisher Allen & Unwin kept the book under wraps until last week because of its claims.

The author says Mick had two convictions for possessing and using marijuana in 1973 and was openly selling the illicit drug as far back as the mid-70s, before graduating to smuggling as part of an international syndicate that stretched from Adelaide to Bali. He also says police seized 197 plants from the Queensland farm owned by Mick’s next-door neighbour, Tony Lewis – four weeks before Schapelle was arrested in Bali.

So many nasty comments.. How can anyone be happy to see a young women rot in prison for 20 years. I will not be reading this book as in my eyes the author has taken advantage of a dead man, someone who could not be contacted for comment or defend himself against lies said about him. Anyone can find people to say bad things about others, I assume there was no balance in this book and the author would not of found anyone or wrote about people who had nice things to say about the Corby's. One sided story based on what? defiantly not fact!!
Andy fromAuckland, you are WRONG! There is drug flow from Australia to Bali! Anyone with brains and logic can read up about the flow of drugs and see that this is correct!
I have read her book and it is a real tear jerker. I thought she was innocent but now reading more about her case, I do not know. Perhaps I am a bit naive but why did she not check her boogie board before entering and exiting customs. And to serve 20 years supposedly knowing it was her father that planted these drugs, I find that hard to swallow. He obviously did not care about her outcome. Only Schappelle knows the truth.
What a filthy way of putting her down you media mongrels . Watch the movie 'Expendable' and come than with a compassionate article . All you calling yourself Australians should be outraged about this case !
I do not know if she is guilty or not, but I do know this should be a warning to everyone. Stay the hell out of any country that you do not live in unless your profession requires it. You could not drag me out of America because if you are in some where like Indonesia and arrested and innocent, no one will help you. Stay home
Assuming that her father was an experienced drug smuggler, it is even less likely that she would be guilty of this crime as there was no economic motive. An experienced criminal does not take their contraband at great risk to their own family to a place (Bali) where that contraband will sell for considerably less than what it would get if it were not exported (i.e. it remains in Australia). There is no logical reason to move the smelly dope at great risk so as to achieve a massively reduced return. The scary thing about people who believe that she is guilty because her father was a weed dealer is that they appear in capable of logical thought. Daddy grew dope therefore they did something crazy and irrational? Makes no sense.
THE JUDGE SAYS GUILTY! This family was very well known in the drug community in Northern Adelaide. Absolutely no surprise to them, but to the general public it seemed an outrage as they thought she was innocent. About time this vile and pig of a family was exposed as criminals.
I cant believe some of the comments. Surely 7 years is enough time served for dope, guilty or not. I would like to give her a hug and let her know I care about her. I hope she comes home soon, as a free woman and spends her life surrounded with love. xoxo
I cant understand any of this i believe she is innocent, look at all the guilty ones, like the bali nine they are misserable but they know they did it and they are trying to servive the best they can. Now look at schappelle she is not gonna last shes going insane, shes not trying to make friends or fit in. I think she's waiting for someone to save her and for the world to realise she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, which obviously isn't gonna happen.
A very compelling read... totally believable because of rather than inspite of the information coming from convicted drug dealers... who just by "accident" visited her in Kerobokan jail. Her father coming forward would have made no difference to her guilt or sentence... she was caught with 4.2Kg pot moulded exactly to her boogie board. What would have helped her sentence was if she admitted her crime... but then the Corbys would not have made the $$$ windfall from all the press and bogus conscpiracy stories and Mercedes would not be showing off her new boobs in Rally... for a fee of course. Living in Bali the word around at the time was that the Aussie shipment did not make it through... imported pot is in high demand here with all the Yahoo tourists. Pot being all over Ros's house when the brother was arrested... but... Merc and Pelle never smoked pot... sure! and the big question... who was receiving the pot? She was coming to visit her sister who was throwing a big party...?
