The pressure is well and truly on John at the moment, however I don't think people should give up on him too soon. He is a battler and is very experienced in running electoral campaigns. The mounting pressure from the media currently reflects that Kevin Rudd will win the election, and that he will win it very well. However on the day and in the week leading up to the election, John Howard will gain new ground and it will be a closer race than most people think. Even states won't follow trends and it will be interesting watching it all unfold on the day. I usually find watching the election coverage is like watching paint dry, but this election will have some interesting twists. Old bull, young bull — they are both good candidates.
John is a life lesson one and is a born leader. He is a great campaigner and is a likeable person, but not loveable (to the public). He is in a good cycle for the election (a six cycle which relates to balance and harmony) and votes will come from the good things he has done in the past and many will think "better the devil you know". John must prepare himself well (including his grooming and presentation) during this cycle as it will pay dividends for him. A caring and understanding attitude will work well, not just a focus on the economy.
John's grid looks great for politics and the 3-2-1 and 3-6-9 combinations in his grid show that he is street smart, intelligent and has good people skills. His memoirs after politics will be a great seller and his story of how he handled a pushy treasurer will open people's eyes (how juicy!).
John is picking his ground to fight on and he is doing it well. The longer it takes the better it is for him. He is waiting for some new things which will work well for him (figures) and for Labor to make mistakes. It's happening and it's hard to keep a lid on all members. The things John should watch out for during this cycle are his legs (joints) and body trouble which could slow him down. His skin could also be a concern for him as he doesn't protect himself from the sun enough and this could also cause problems later.
John Howard's name is an eight and the election will be held on an eight day. This will help him and will make for a very interesting election finish. My call for the election day is that Kevin Rudd will win by a nose and John will take up an overseas posting where he will be well paid. But I say well done to John, he has left his mark for decades to come and will be a hard act to follow.
